NCAA Division I two-year to four-year transfer rule updated
The NCAA revised its Division I rule for moving from a two-year college to a four-year school (Bylaw 14.5.4) on June 24, 2026, and it applies to all sports. A transfer who was a qualifier out of high school now needs one full-time term at the two-year school and a 2.000 transferable GPA. The path for nonqualifiers was updated too. All six playbooks and the JUCO guide pages now explain the new rule.
Midyear transfer rule added
In baseball, softball and basketball, a player who transfers to a Division I school in the middle of the year can't compete until the next academic year. The baseball, softball and basketball playbooks now include this in their transfer table.
New Division II, Division III and NAIA transfer sections
Each sport's free JUCO guide now has a section on moving from a two-year college to a Division II, Division III or NAIA school, with links to the official rules.
Date correction
One line in the volleyball playbook showed the wrong date for when the rules were last checked. It has been corrected.
Last-updated date on every cover
Each playbook cover now shows the date it was last updated, so you can tell at a glance whether you have the latest version.
