Transfers
The Transfer Portal
How the transfer portal works in soccer and why it matters to recruits. Rules checked Oct 22, 2026. Rules change, so confirm details on the linked sources and with each school's compliance office. This is general guidance, not legal or eligibility advice.
2026-27 D1 soccer window
- Men's and women's soccer: Nov. 23 - Dec. 22, 2026.
- The Oct. 7, 2026 Cabinet changes did not change the soccer window.
What it means for high school recruits
- The portal window opens after the Nov. 11 signing date, so some D1 staffs hold spots for transfers.
- Keep communicating with coaches through the winter and spring, and keep D2, D3, NAIA and JUCO options alive.
- Ask coaches: "How many high school players do you expect to sign in my class, and how many transfers?"
