Recruiting profile
Social media for football recruits
Football recruiting happens on X more than almost any other sport. Coaches will look you up, so make what they find quick to read, honest and clean.
Quick dos
- Use X as your main recruiting account. Many college football programs and coaches are active there.
- Pin your newest Hudl highlight. Put your best plays first; coaches often decide in the first 30 seconds.
- Post new film during the season, and post camp results that were measured by the camp staff.
- List only real, verifiable information: height and weight with the date measured, position, GPA.
- Follow the programs on your target list and the coach who recruits your area.
Quick don'ts
- No trash talk, complaining about coaches, teammates or officials, or profanity. Coaches also see what you like and repost.
- Don't post "offers" that weren't real offers, or inflate your height, weight or times.
- Don't tag 30 schools on one post.

You can post, tag and DM coaches anytime. Under NCAA D1 rules, FBS and FCS coaches can't send you DMs or other private messages until June 15 after sophomore year. Before you sign, coaches can follow you and "like" or repost public posts, but they can't comment publicly about you. See the timeline.
