Before you buy a ball
Boys' high school basketball usually uses a size 7 ball (29.5") and girls' a size 6 (28.5"), but check your state association and league rules. Indoor (composite leather) and outdoor (rubber) balls wear differently, so buy the kind you'll actually use.
