Results, Film & What Coaches Ask For
How to present your results and film to college track and field coaches. Rules checked Oct 27, 2026. Rules change, so confirm details on the linked sources and with each school's compliance office. This is general guidance, not legal or eligibility advice.
Results first
- Track coaches look at verified marks first: your times, heights and distances, when and where you made them, and how you compete in championship rounds.
- Keep a dated list of PRs and championship results, each with its official results link.
- We don't publish "what D1 wants" charts; they're rarely sourced. Compare your PRs with the athletes in your events on each school's official roster and results pages.
Film
- Film races from the stands and jumps or throws from the side. Coaches use film for technique, especially in the field events and multis.
- Post on YouTube (unlisted is fine) or Hudl, and put the link near the top of your email. Never attach video.
